The following is a breakdown of the media organizations providing services to Kirkcaldy.

Newspapers

Fife Free Press - Kirkcaldy’s main weekly newspaper. New edition published every Thursday.

Courier - Daily newspaper, published in Dundee. Covers Fife and Tayside stories

Radio

Kingdom FM - Fife’s most-listened-to commercial station. Broadcasts from Markinch. 96.6FM

Forth One - Broadcasts from Edinburgh. 97.3FM

Victoria Radio Network - Hospital Radio in Kirkcaldy. Broadcasts on 1287AM/MW to the hospital grounds.

Television

Main terrestrial channels are BBC1, BBC2, STV, Channel 4, Five. In 2012, the signals for these channels will be switched off, and all viewers will have to switch to Freeview.

Freeview is the free digitial terrestrial service, offering dozens of television and radio stations. Requires a set-top box, or an integrated television system.

Sky and Virgin Media provide satellite and cable services respectively.

Most major television channels also offer their own online "catch-up" services via their websites.
