Hi there folks!

Just letting you all know that I'm currently in the process of developing an expanded version of the "A View of Kirkcaldy" video I made for the AboutKirkcaldy.com website (which can be found in the 'Videos' section). I'm working closely with Neil to showcase the best areas in and around Kirkcaldy, and really show off what's good about our home.

I'd like to open the creative process up to all the visitors of the site. When you think about Kirkcaldy; what are the things that really suggest the core of the town to you? Where are the places that you most identify and take pride in? What do you do in your spare time, that you believe should be showcase?

I'm taking care with this video to make sure it's a real demonstration of the town's core spirit and values. Please let me know of any ideas of places and people that really mean "Kirkcaldy" to you.

All the best, folks! Share your thoughts :)

I was out with Gavin tonight doing more filming around Ravenscraig, and got some really nice shots of the sun setting over the town.

To give you a little more info, the best way to describe what we're trying to make something akin to one of those visit scotland/ireland videos. Something to make people feel proud to be a Langtonian. It will have a mix of buildings and scenery, along with people doing various things. It will be set to music, with no words or commentary.

Yes - the town has its problem areas, but it's easy to overlook that we also have some amazing things going for us as well that other towns would die for. It's time to make them more visible.

We're keen to make it look as professional as possible, and are going to some lengths to get the right shots. e.g. we spent over an hour on Tuesday afternoon setting up a single 3 second shot of the Town House!

Ideas so far include Raith Rovers, Golfing, shots of the Beveridge Park, the beaches, etc. Obviously, some will depend on getting permission from people to film. Filming will be taking place over the next fortnight, with the final cut premiering towards the end of the month.

Ideas are welcome... and we may also need your help as an extra at some point.

Just to let you know, this project is still alive and well - and nearing completion! It was heavily delayed as I moved out to Japan to teach English.

However, it's almost done. I hope you enjoy what Neil and I have put together!

Glad to hear it, Steve!

Also; Good news, Clair! You'll see plenty of the churches in the finished video.
