Chapel Level Petrol Station

Hi,

In the Fife Free Press today, there was notice of a planning application to turn the old Esso station on Chapel Level into several units, including some Takeaway food places. The building has been dormant since its closure a few years ago, despite housing being built behind it and the road in front about to be dualled.

Details of the application - entitled "Erection of 4 retail units (class 1) and 3 units for use as hot food takeaway (sui generis), formation of car parking and ancillary works | Northlea Service Station" are available at the link below.

There are obviously concerns about how busy/noisy it will be, but is it not better that it be put to some use that lie empty forever?

The Community Council has noted this application. We will gather some opinions and respond to Fife Council within the next week. Comments welcome.
